Ischia is a volcanic island in the Bay of Naples in Italy. The highest peak is volcanic Mount Epomeo, 788 meters high. In 1883, an earthquake destroyed the villages of Casamicciola Terme and Lacco Ameno. Ischia is reached by ferry from Naples. One famous resident of Ischia was the English composer William Walton.
