Located in Northeastern Oregon at Mile 327 on Interstate 84, Durkee, OR is a History and Train Buff teasure trove. With a population of 195 humans plus a whole bunch of horses, cows, goats and the occasional antelope, this little dot on the map is a great place to kick back and enjoy some of the most beautiful country in the Western United States. Born in (West) Berlin, with my early childhood, as well as 2 adult years spent in Berlin, I have truly experienced that unique feeling known only to a Berliner. Life after the Wall is even more fascinating, as Berlin keeps developing into an ever greater city of wonder and magic.
