Baz Luhrmann’s epic film Australia premieres in London on 10 December and will open in cinemas on Boxing Day. This eagerly anticipated drama tells the story of an English aristocrat, Lady Sarah Ashley (Nicole Kidman), and a rough-hewn cattle drover (Hugh Jackman) who drive 1,500 head of cattle across Northern Australia.
To celebrate this epic romance a breathtaking new journey, dubbed ‘The Australia Way’, has opened, linking the vibrant and tropical harbour city of Darwin with the exotic pearling town of Broome.
An interactive map of the journey, experiences and suggested itineraries can be found on: www.westernaustralia.com/australiaway.

Darwin is the tropical capital city of Australia's Northern Territory.
It has a relaxed outdoor lifestyle and enjoys warm weather all year round. Perched on a peninsula with sea on three sides, Darwin is an excellent base to explore the natural attractions of World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park, Litchfield and Nitmiluk National Parks, the Tiwi Islands and Arnhem Land.

For the more serious birdwatcher, Kakadu is home to the endangered gouldian finch and red goshawk as well as several other species endemic to only this region.
Literally millions of magpie geese inhabit the wetlands of the north and to witness them going about their business en masse is truly a spectacle.

Melville and Bathurst Islands, known collectively as the Tiwi Islands, lie 80 kilometres north of Darwin.
Dense rainforest, sandy beaches and rock pools combine to create the Tiwi Islands' landscape. The area of both islands combined is 8000 square kilometres and Melville Island is in fact, Australia's second largest (after Tasmania).
Tiwi Tour includes a chat with some of the local Tiwi ladies over billy tea and damper as they demonstrate traditional weaving and painting. The ladies also perform a traditional dance and a 'smoking' ceremony, which they say will clear bad spirits and keep spirits safe on their future travels.
