It would seem that the dream of going abroad for this year’s summer holiday is still afloat.
Recent research has shown one in three Britons would holiday on home soil to save money during the credit crisis, but the ferry industry say those wanting to getaway from the UK need not worry about paying too much.
William Gibbons, Director of the Passenger Shipping Association says “Ferries are such marvelous value that you can actually get a ferry crossing for as low as £58 return on the Dover –Calais route with your car”
But is the credit crunch hitting the ferry industry in other ways? To find out more from William Gibbons watch this video.

Santorini is a remarkable island, the result of an exploding volcano some 4,000 years ago destroyed the Island and the resulting tidal wave destroyed Crete and much of the Minoan civilization.
Today its is a popular destination because of its amazing views of the caldera. The Blue domed churches cling to its cliffs like sapphires on a string of pearls.

Ships coming back from the Antarctic, rounding South America from Santiago, Chile and preparing for new departures. A constant bustle of passengers coming and going in this little town that resembles Breckenridge, Colorado.
Shopping for souvenirs, wandering around, eating, visting the Tierre Del Fuego National Park, trekking, skiing (in the winter) or even zip-lining...quite a bit to do.

I never imagined the Lemaire Channel passage would be so breathtaking. All the passengers were up before the crack of dawn to witness the passage (...Oh, that's right...there is no crack of dawn. It's light for more than 23 hours a day...) Spectacular, spectacular, spectacular.
And then the ever-popular penguins on Petermann Island... Watch and learn...
