VIKING DISEMBARKATION
Watch
Producer: RiasBaixas
The first weekend of August, Catoira recalls the Viking invasion with a Fiesta of International Tourist Interest. Thousands of people arrive there in order to see how the modern and fierce Vikings occupy the West Towers and, this way, they recall this historic event from the 10th century when the real Vikings invaded the city in order to arrive at Jacobsland (Santiago de Compostela). Vikings were a seafaring nation, and it is important to say that they were very handy on the construction of vessels, especially drakkars, and they had very good skills on marine invasions.
