View the Pacific across the Batiquitos Lagoon nature preserve in Southern California's finest resort escape - only 30 minutes from San Diego.

The oldest spring of Carlsbad (Karlovy Vary) is situated in the "Hot Springs Colonnade". In a building from the 60s you find a Geysir with hot mineral water and some other healing springs. In the centre of the foyer stands a mighty statue of "Hygiea", the Greek goddess of the health. In the small shops inside the Colonnade you can buy souvenirs, drinking cups, bath salts, Carlsbad-Oblaten, fossilized roses, tourist brochures, videos, city guides and much more.

This wooden building in the Swiss Style was finished in 1993 as a replica of the original Market Colonnade by architects Fellner and Helmer from 1883. This building roofs the "Market Spring" and "Charles IV Spring". Over the "Charles IV Spring" you will find a relief from metal which displays the legend about the discovery of the Carlsbad springs.
