First night of camping. No food except some carrots. It started with a failed shortcut up North and ended with fresh cactus, weird beans that tasted good, and a tasty stingray provided by the ocean god.

Drove to Limon. Stopped off at a Tilapia Farm restaurant on the way and caught some fish. Limon is a nice looking town but have a bad reputation for crime and drugs. We didn't have any problems. This was the first time we saw the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. it's a beautiful spot.

We were on a mission to find this small reservation in the Talamanca Mountain area. We had read a bit about this area on the internet and really wanted to find out more.... More» It was pretty spiffy. This group of people has live the same way for thousands of years. Just in the last few year they've started embracing a bit of tourism. Don't know if that's good or not. But change is unstoppable.

Making our way further down to Panama. This is near Cahuita on the Southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. We went through a bit of bush and ended up on this cool coastline. It was the perfect place to camp and find some more food. We found some tasty termites and wild onions. And Jodi ran into a whole family of Capuchin monkeys.
