On the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains lie Jasper and Banff National Parks in southwestern Alberta, Canada. Mount Robson, rising to more than 2900 meters, is the area's highest peak. The Parks are actually comprised of four separate areas: Banff, jasper, Yoho and Kootenay all managed as a single reserve and with their wide differences in elevation they provide a variety of biotopes each with its own distinctive plant and animal communities.
