When I was a kid we used to watch roller derby on TV (lack and white of course, back in the 60's). I didn't understand it then - still don't. But it does seem like they are having fun. They used to have special tracks with banked corners - they could really build up a lot of speed. I remember it being even more physical as a boy. They even had Men's Roller Derby back in the 60s too.
