Description: I was out in the Sonoran desert last month visiting an intentional community, when Bob, one of my interviewees, offered to take us to visit this weird pit about a mile away. When we drove up, we found this. I have been holding on to this footage, waiting for the right time to show it. The Map just mentioned it and I thought some footage would be nice. Enjoy!

Healing is probably from a placebo effect but hey....being healed is being healed. It would have been easier to just measure the light spectrum reflected off the moon and replicate it instead of building a giant mirror thingy. Probably cheaper too.

I have been to the site. It is an amazing structure. The inventor, Richard Chapin designed and built this moonlight collector hoping that the positive effects of intense moonlight would have benefits to mankind through medical, agricultural, or other discoveries. His inspiration was a friend who died of cancer with no hope of cure at all. Today, at the site, there are scientists, researchers, medical doctors interested in researching the positive characteristics of intense moonlight. I have been to the collector 8 times. Not once have I heard anyone say that the light is irritating. I have heard comments like calming, soothing, and the like. I would invite all to go to their website and read the testimonials to understand what participants are really saying. Also check the PRESS area. And you can sign up for their newsletter too. It is very interesting.
