Yes, we Bolivians can't be blamed for our criminal cutlure. You see, it is the fault of you Americans and Europeans who send us impoverished back packers who give us no choice but to steal what little they have.

The problem for Bolivians is that we get cheap tourists , that do no stay in good hotels, eat in restaurants and spend money, we get backpackers that have not ised water or a comb in months and basically beg for food and stay in the worse places. In Europe or the USA I am not going to stay in a red ligjt distrisct ot high crime area ot the poorest part in town to take advantage of the locals., no more Isralies that as rude as the Argentinians and both dirty. Please send god USA tourist that spend money and like to live well abd are clean, that is mature people. Also Europeans are cheap, very cheap.

visitor 14283 doesn't know what he is talking about. The main culprit in the kidnap and murder of Austrians Katharina Koller and Peter Kirsten Rabitsch is Ramiro Milán Fernández. Despite the fact that there is a video of him using Katharina and Peter's stolen bankcardson the web, he has not been arrested. Watch the video at http://www.katharinaandpeter.info/images/stories/videos/ATM_1.avi

The comments made by 6696 "there are a lot of kidnappings..." is totally misguided. To start with there are lots other places where tourists are kidnapped. Bolivia actually has the lowest incidence of crimes against tourists. We do not hate whites, what a nonsense is that!! We hate US policies in our country, we distinguish very clearly between gov and people. I took 13 people from Europe to visit Bolivia, and I was surprised on how accomodating people were. With me people were not as friendly as they were with the gringos. They didn't do it for the money either because my money was as good as theirs, but they felt gringos deserved extra especial treatment because they were foreigners and felt sorry for them. As for the Austrian couple and Spanish guy, everybody felt sad including Bolivian people, that's why the guys who did it were arrested. The president asked to be kept informed about the incident as it is unusual in the country such crimes. Otherwise I suggest you visit Colombia.

That kidnapping thing is a part of the truth, there are a lot of kidnappings going on there (specially european people), and its because the policy of the bolivian president, illegal drug trade (coca/cocain), and hating white people.............dont go there, it´s dangerous

Visitor 343...you are a moron.
First...trying to compare New York City's murder count to that of Bolivia is the stupidest thing I've heard all week.
Second...no one is saying that Bolivia sucks...it just so happens it's dangerous.
Third...you are a reactionary idiot and i take offense to saying "only an American"...
Try using your brain instead of randomly insulting populations exceeding 300 million people.
...idiot.
