Located near the Government Center T stop on the Green or Blue line is Boston's Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market.
Lots of shopping and food choices are here including Durgin Park, Union Oyster House and Kingfish Hall.
The Union Oyster House is the oldest restaurant in Boston and the oldest restaurant in continuous service in the U.S. — the doors have always been open to diners since 1826.

Beacon Hill, located near the Boston Public Garden and Boston Common is know for it's historic architecture.
On Charles Street you can find some restaurants such as Beacon Hotel and Bistro for a nice dinner. There are also more casual lunch and dinner places.
Beacon Hill has many nice homes with pretty window boxes and unique doorways.

In this episode of the Carol and Steve Show Carol and Steve take you to Fenway Park.
Some tips:
Take the MBTA Green Line train and get off at the Kenmore Square stop.
Stop off for a drink and a bite to eat at Boston Beer Works, Game On! or Cask'n Flagon. http://www.beerworks.net/# http://boston.citysearch.com/profile/41698368 http://www.casknflagon.com/index.html
Boston Beer Works is a micro brewery. The beer there is really good and they have a really large selection of food. I like the Green Monster, it's a chicken sandwich with pesto.
For a something a little nicer try Great Bay.
