I was out in the Sonoran desert last month visiting an intentional community, when Bob, one of my interviewees, offered to take us to visit this weird pit about a mile away. When we drove up, we found this. I have been holding on to this footage, waiting for the right time to show it. The Map just mentioned it and I thought some footage would be nice. Enjoy!

Shopdropping is a tactic used by artists and activists to clandestinely place altered or recreated objects into retail stores. Handmade labels were printed out for students to color, cut, and paste. The project featured real people who make the products, their name, and sometimes even a story. The intent is to reconnect the labor with the product. To shopdrop on your own, go to www.PeopleProducts123.com. There you will also find useful information on fair trade and labor rights. When Bisbee's mines closed in the mid-70s, a bunch of hippies moved in, making Bisbee into a Bohemian, artistic, and free-spirited community. Development and gentrification have recently threatened Bisbee's character, but locals are determined to keep Bisbee modest, artistic, and authentic.

In the far west of Texas, hundreds of miles from any major airport, there is a town of ranchers, writers, and artists. Art engages with the landscape, making the town itself the museum.
*The town is also famous for it's mystery lights, or unexplained "ghost" lights that can be see every night dancing in the distant sky.

Everyone in Toronto knows Zanta. He goes about the city all year in pants and a Santa hat doing push-ups on his knuckles. He is to Toronto what The Naked Cowboy is to New York. Who do you like better?

Graffiti and Street artists from around the world gather to paint the walls of 11 Spring before construction turns the building into luxury condos. The art on the front will be washed away, but the inside will be sealed like a time capsule. Thanks to Peter Price for music work!
