Some places to go, things to see, in Langkawi, Malaysia. Langkawi means Eagle Rock in Malay, and there are a few eagles to be seen in this video. Langkawi is the biggest island in that little group, but it is surrounded by smaller ones, making a sea excursion worthwhile. There is also a cable car up up to the highest point - for no better reason than that it's there, and the views are lovely. They have built a spectacular high walkway between two peaks, one end of which can be reached from the upper cable car stop.

We rented a private holiday home away from the usual tourist towns, and had a lovely laid back holiday. We still managed to see most of the sights - except the main tourist towns. Well, we did have a quick look, the tourist bit is all the same everywhere, wall to wall sunloungers and shops. The rest of the island is well worth seeing.

This was what we really enjoyed, the intimate city, small cobbled streets, unexpected monuments, where people work, live, eat, all amongst the history of centuries.

I couldn't go to Rome and not include these.

Boxing Day (the day after Christmas Day) in England has always traditionally been one when Foxhunting took place. However, 26th December 2004 was the last one before hunting a fox with hounds became illegal, so I took my camcorder and filmed the meet of our nearest Hunt. As it happens, Hunting has simply changed, not stopped, usually drag hunting, or using a bird of prey, so the tradition continues, and this will be the scene all over England, still.

Kowloon at night, the waterfront walk looking out at the brightly lit boats and buildings on Hong Kong Island, Temple Street market, and a laser and firework display from the Hong Kong Island buildings for the benefit of watchers on Kowloon Waterfront, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the handover from Britain to China.

Trips to Stanley market, Aberdeen - home of the floating restaurants - the giant escalator system and Victoria Peak, all on Hong Kong Island.

A weekend in Hong Kong. The subway, buses and the Star ferry can all be paid for using the octopus card which you buy at the start of your holiday. Details in the film, plus a trip around the harbour on a special Star Ferry boat. The three videos are all one, really, about 8 minutes in total, but I've broken it up into 3 easier size chunks.

The Rasa is one of our favourite hotels, and since we were last there it has been extensively rebuilt. It was pretty good before, so we're hoping to try out the new version fairly soon. Batu Ferringhi is the main tourist town and beach in Penang
