About Me

guajardin
I grew up in the small town of Uruapan, in the state of Michoacán, Mexico. I developed an appetite for the visual arts, especially the movies, watching films on television when I couldn't get to the town's movie theater. If i describe my childhood fondness for movies, I could compare myself to the young boy in Cinema Paradiso. I moved to Healdsburg, California, USA, to further my education, and graduated from Sonoma State University with a degree in Communications. In 2001, I received an award for my documentary “The Golden Era Of Mexican Cinema”. Today, I work for a non-profit organization that fights violence against women, and my “company” Sun God Productions creates and promote films, photography and projects of Mexican, Hispanic, Latino origin to the general public, mainly because of the growing interest in this kind of themes.
