these "ruins" are from the Tomb of Clytaemnestra in Mycenea. The two stony lions standing opposite with mouths wide shut, guard sleeplessly the "rich in gold and mystery"Homer's beloved town.Founded by Perseus, developed with Pelopas and became with Agamemnon the metropolis of the world and staring point for one of the most famous wars of all time! Notorious in battle were the Myceneans. They were also known as merchants and seafarers, managing to conquer even the Minoan palaces.Mycenean craftsmen created immortal monuments, proof of bravery, luster and human power the Cyclopean walls, but also examples of poetic elegange were the fine gold jewellery,Atreas' legendary treasure.Metaphysical the gate of Atreas' treasure,or "Agamemnon's Catacomb",simple and strict tragic Clytaemnestra's tomb. The passage through the Cyclopean Catacimb is a wake from lethe and in company with the best of the Greek men!
