Colder temps in the last few days have allowed the snowmaking crews at Squaw Valley to crank up the guns and blow some snow! The Cable Car and High Camp are open for scenic rides and ice skating on the Olympic Pavilion at 8200 feet! Thanksgiving weekend is packed with events including rail jams and snow tubing and the vibrant base village offers many dining and shopping options. Summer is winding down in Squaw Valley which means preparations for the winter season are ramping up. Top of the list is the replacement of the Shirley Lake Express lift with a brand new six pack.
