Time to print out some new passports: Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt were born yesterday in Nice, France. Mom and twins, who stunned the world by failing to be born when Entertainment Tonight! said they would, were doing fine according to a statement by the mayor of Nice.
Vivienne and Knox join their four siblings, adoptees from Cambodia, Ethiopia and Vietnam and a biological sister who was born in Namibia. Now they're only three bodies away from being able to field their own World Cup soccer team.

They faked us out once before, so we'll be super careful in announcing that allegedly Angelina Jolie checked into a hospital yesterday to go on bed rest before she gives birth to the latest Super World Travelers, the twins she is expecting with Brad Pitt.
The babes, reportedly twin girls, will have dual French citizenship because she's currently resting in L'Hopital Lenval in Nice.
"Entertainment Tonight" led the charge in late May to declare that the twins, reportedly due in August, had already been born. Turned out it was just a rumor, possibly spread by an ex-Super Traveler sidekick (er, assistant). This time it was the French media's turn to jump the gun on the planned expansion to America's real first family. But if she were just there for a checkup, would her obstetrician be giving a press conference? We think not!

Penelope Cruz and recent Oscar winner Javier Bardem read together on a beach in Nice over Easter Weekend. The couple met in 1992 on the set of the Spanish movie "Jamon, jamon."
If you're on Spring Break in the U.S. (and for some reason you're reading this), you're probably seeing record crowds as the classic spring-vacation window has narrowed. If you're in Europe this week, though, it's business as usual, since in most European countries it's traditional to vacation the week of Holy Week (or at least the weekend of Easter). Plus, with the mighty euro, you probably wouldn't be running into many of your compatriots.

I hate when this happens… -cb
I took a train ride down the coast of France to enjoy the beach in Nice. My friends were clad in their itsy-bitsy bikinis. I, on the other hand, had just recently graduated from the one piece to the tankini, exposing exactly one inch of midriff flesh. But Nice not only boasted miles of golden sand, but miles and miles of tanned, brown breasts.
“I forgot about the topless thing,” I grumbled.
“Fantastic! Now I can finally get rid of these tan lines,” Allison exclaimed while dropping her beach paraphernalia and her bikini top simultaneously.
After much discussion amongst the rest of us, we decided we would also sunbathe sans top. Soon we were lathering our knockers with sunblock, while trying to look like this was all perfectly mundane.
I soon noticed that not only were my “girls” the biggest of the group, but they were also the whitest. Sun bathers nearby were actually blinded as the white of my breasts reflected off the sun, causing me to become human headlights. But I resolved to stay strong and tan what my mama gave me.
The rest of the group seemed quite comfortable and were already lying on their towels, enjoying their music, toes tapping in the sand. I attempted to do the same. Soon everyone else was snoozing. That was when I noticed my sun was blocked. It seemed we had a gentleman caller and I was the only one awake to receive him.
“Bonjour, mon petit chou,” he said.
Now, I don’t know much French, but I really thought that meant ‘my little cabbage.’
“Yeah, sorry, I only speak English.” I attempted to casually cover my bosom, which I realized made me look even more awkward.
“Oh, eh, I speak a little of the English, too,” he answered eagerly.
Oh god, why won’t someone wake up, I thought, as I kicked Kate, who lay next to me. She awoke with a start. The Frenchman seemed even more excited to have additional conscious company.
I also realized that the breeze had stirred something else up—my nipples. And as I noticed it, so did the Frenchmen. And I realized at that point, it’s even harder to tell a man “no,” when your nipples are saying “yes.”

Another handy tip's just come out of the UK Times for those of you seeking a cosy and not-too-pricey place to stay on the Cote d'Azur. The Villa La Tour Hotel in Nice is a small 16-room place located a 10-minute walk from the sea and near the Cours Saleya flower markets. The building was originally a convent dating from the eighteenth century, but fortunately most of the rooms have been renovated recently (and certainly more than once since the convent days).
Recent guest feedback has the usual mix of "good value" and "too small"--but for the price, ranging from just $60 to $160 a night, you can't expect too much. A quick tip: Room 101
The Guardian watching out for the hungry masses, compiled a list of Europe's top 5 street food vendors. Though I'm partial to the guy who sells churros in the 14th street F station, he obviously didn't make the list. The list is Europe-centric but we can remedy that. Send in your nominations for best street food vendor in your city, Europe or elsewhere, to tips@gridskipper.com or just post a comment. Don't have comment access? Read our Comment FAQ.

As we've been saying, all the world is in Southern France right now. Well, ok, so at least all the Parisians that is and the New York Times. The Times recently went to Nice to check out the Palais de la Mediterranée, an historic hotel who has seen Josephine Baker and other jazz stars, representing an era of retro class. If that weren't enough the Tattingers took over the hotel in recent years--maybe you've heard of their other enterprise, only one of the world's best Champagnes.
Nice location in more ways than one, according to the Times reviewer, "this is your top bet in Nice". So what do you get for the best of Nice? For starters,
