Tips for Winning

Here at Travelistic, we know a good clip when we see one. To get you thinking in the right direction, here are some tips about what we think makes a great video, and how to get views for yours (though you’re more than welcome to disagree).

About that video…

Keep it short and sweet – definitely be sure to stay within the time parameters of the contest rules.

Personalize your video – show us your perspective. If its interesting to you, it’ll probably be interesting to other Travelistic users.

Be mindful of sound – if there is dialogue in your video, be sure that we can hear it. If you choose to use music in your video, be sure that you have the rights to do so.

Creativity and originality count – your video doesn’t have to use any video editing software at all (but feel free to use it, if you’ve got it). Some of Travelistic’s most popular videos were taken with mobile phone video cameras.

About getting views…

Share your video with everyone you know. Seriously, the most viewed video wins. Post the link to your video on your Facebook page, post a bulletin about it on MySpace, share it on your blog, get the word out.

Make a creative, unique video – this will encourage people that don’t know you to view your video.

Tags are important – in order to be in the running, your video must be tagged with “Winter Holiday Contest.” Be sure to add other tags that describe your video as well.
