The announcement came a week later than expected, but yesterday Al Gore went public with plans for the “Live Earth” concerts that will happen on July 7. The 24-hour global festival of live performances, radio, television and internet broadcasts aims to do for the Climate Crisis, what Live Aid did for starving kids in Africa. The organization that’s running the show, though, has managed to come up with the least altruistic-sounding ever name for their project: Save Our Selves.
