This must be what it’s like to be retired…

You don’t really know someone until you’re thrown on each other’s sole company for days, living in close quarters with his or her quirks, habits and shortcomings. But traveling as a couple is really a trial by fire.

The Travelistic Blog’s holiday reading is Daniel Kalder’s The Lost Cosmonaut, in which the author journeys to the hinterlands of the Russian Federation, regions so obscure, that I had to look them up to be sure it wasn’t fiction.

The Guardian already had one of the best travel sections in the UK (or anywhere, really); now, they’ve decided to go themselves one better, by redesigning their travel page.
