Amtrak on the Rails to Better Days?

Remember trains? We do still have them in the US of A. Despite the constant scheduling problems and crippled infrastructure, I can’t help but root for Amtrak for hanging on in the face of our relentless car culture.

Metro, Underground or Subway?

Not owning a car, and being a dedicated urban traveler, I’m a big fan of public transportation, and not just for the ability to get around faster and more cheaply, but for the typically slick-but-simple design package that goes along with it, too. Ergo,

China: Training to Shanghai & Shopping
Watch
Producer: travelswithsheila
http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com It's becoming easier and easier to train around China. Especially on the speedy bullet train between Hangzhou ("Han-joe") and Shanghai, only 1:15. And then...once you're in Shanghai...shop 'til you drop. Fenshine Fashion on West Nanjing Road is one of the many places to buy knock-offs and/or really nice clothes, shoes, handbags that aren't name brands. I don't go there looking for fake Vuitton's or Gucci's...everything is so darn cheap, shopping is irresistible. Go, see for yourself...and bargain hard!

Located in Northeastern Oregon at Mile 327 on Interstate 84, Durkee, OR is a History and Train Buff teasure trove. With a population of 195 humans plus a whole bunch of horses, cows, goats and the occasional antelope, this little dot on the map is a great place to kick back and enjoy some of the most beautiful country in the Western United States. But don't expect a Motel 6. The closest accommodations are found 24 miles to the west, in Baker City. Produced by Andrew Burnett, Come Out and Play Productions, andrew@goodimpressions.us

BERLIN - METROPOLIS ULTIMO
Watch
Producer: thursdaysrecords
A visit to Berlin is always worth the travel. Here is a travel tour through the city and the surrounding area, in form of a collage of fotos made during my April, 2007 visit. Born in (West) Berlin, with my early childhood, as well as 2 adult years spent in Berlin, I have truly experienced that unique feeling known only to a Berliner. Life after the Wall is even more fascinating, as Berlin keeps developing into an ever greater city of wonder and magic. I can highly recommend Berlin as a vacation destinaion. - Enjoy the show, enveloped in the Benny Goodman Big Band Classic -Sing, Sing Sing-, and please take a moment to rate and comment.
