5 years out from 9/11 and one month from the foiled air-terror plot in the UK, the harsh new realities of air travel were, understandably, tops in the headlines this weekend.

Non-profit World Heritage Tours has undertaken a massive project – documenting all sites listed with the UNESCO World Heritage program in 360º-you-are-there “panographies�.

UNESCO is on a preservation spree this week, naming eight sites to its World Heritage list yesterday and an additional 10 today.

A Swiss organization is currently holding a public competition to come up with a new set of seven wonders – sites that we can celebrate while we still have them, and which represent a global, rather than Classical, heritage.
