User Spotlight: mrjonolewarne

The first 3 months of my round the world trip were spent doing the whole west coast of the USA and some of Canada with Wrighty. Started in San Francisco, headed north along the Cali coast, then through Oregon and Washington before getting to Vancouver. Then we headed back down to LA and Huntington beach. After that, we had a weekend in San Diego before finally heading to Vegas and Arizona. Too drunk to get any footage in Vegas, gutted! Enjoy

Before I went to Fiji I spent 2 weeks on Rarotonga, the main island of the Cook Islands. Its a great little island. You can buzz around it on a scooter in less than an hour. Is surrounded by reef which makes loads of wicked lagoons full of awesome fish. We explored to whole island in those 2 weeks including a hike right up to the middle and highest point of the island. I even managed a drunken attempt at being a turtle on my way back to the sea!

I travelled NZ for 3 months from August to October 2004. 2 Friends and I hired a flowery van and hit the road. We went to Auckland, then the Bay Of Islands, Raglan, Rotorua and Wellington before catching a ferry to the South Island. There we checked out the wildlife around Kaikoura including an amazing trip to see Sperm Whales which are maaaaasive! Then we headed to the mountains. Wanaka was amazing, my favourite place there. We tried snowboarding for the first time and by the end of my first day I was pretty good! If i do say so myself.

I did an entire lap of Fiji's main island. These are the highlights of it. We started going clockwise from Nadi. stopping to lounge around in the hammocks at the Beachhouse hostel. Then we headed around, past Suva and up to the islands on the North East corner. I think it was called Nanu-I-Ra. Absolute paradise and barely a sole there. Then we headed accross the North coast and took a trip inland to a jungle village. The peoplpe there were very sweet and welcoming. The kids had never seen themselves on TV before so i couldnt stop spinning my viewfinder around and showing them. They went crazy for it!

These are the highlighs of Christmas and New year 2005/6 which i spent in Sydney with my mates. Video starts with us collecting some of the beer we needed and goes into CHristmas day on the beach and barbequeing in the park behind at Coogee. Then goes into new years day, about 6am on the beach totally mashed with all our crew. Amazing week that! video then goes into a little road trip along the great ocean road then ends with camerafone footage of the big day out on the gold coast with the Kings Of Leon! Enjoy
